The 59th "Kyoto Winter Special Openings" will be held from January 10th to March 18th, 2025.
This event will commemorate the 30th anniversary of the World Heritage registration and will feature special openings of normally closed cultural properties of World Heritage temples. In addition, it will focus on temples of the "Rakuyo Thirty-Three Kannon Pilgrimage," which will celebrate its 20th anniversary of reconstruction, and will feature special openings of normally closed gardens, Buddhist statues,襖絵 (fusuma-e), architecture, and more.
In addition, special openings and events will be held at various temples and shrines.
